This morning I am continuing my study on
Psalm chapter 1 and verse 3. The purpose of this study is based tightly
to the vision for my youth group this new year. Teenagers are so
wavering from day to day and in my heart I know that God has more for
them then this unstable lifestyle. God wants more for us than this. The psalmists here describes a stable man
who is in the word of God as a tree planted by streams of living water.
Read it now with me:
Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed
is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in
the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in
the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is
like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in
season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
This is so powerful... how do we get
rooted deep? We first watch who we keep company with. Have you ever
noticed someone who changes moods when they are around different people?
If you are not constantly hanging with those who can uplift you then
you will continue to be unstable. Second, you want to be grounded in
Christ, then develop a hunger for His word. Once you try it, you will
not be able to set it down. Matthew 5 says those who hunger and thirst
after righteousness shall be filled. If you want to have a firm and solid
foundation, then today work this: Give your heart to Christ, get in His
word, and surround yourself with godly people who can help you in your
walk. Amen! Be blessed today, because He loves you so much and wants to
flow through you. I leave you with this verse:
John 7:37-38, "If anyone is thirsty,
let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture
has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."
God bless,
PM
