It's more than just a church, it's a ministry equipping people for everyday life

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her
tongue. Proverbs 31:10, 26

Do we think before we speak? I have often said something that was totally intended one way and taken completely different. How often do we consider the power of our words? James 3:6-12 says:

"
The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the
whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself
set on fire by hell.
All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water."

Our words say a lot about us. The things that we say can determine the way others view us or themselves. Realize this, at one point or another what someone has said to you, or about you, has totally effected your life in some way, shape, or form. How do you speak to others? Do you speak with wisdom? Are you intentional with your words, or do you say the first thing that comes to your mind no matter how it effects others? Read further in James 3:17-18...

"
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate,
submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.
"

God is love and he calls us to serve each other in love. What we say to others and how we say it should be pure, peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere, and spoken with wisdom. If we sow peace we will get peace in return. So remember next time before you speak, think of how your words will effect who you are talking to. Will you be speaking life into them or death?
