It's more than just a church, it's a ministry equipping people for everyday life

Devotion of the Day - By Jessica Beasley April 19, 2010

He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season, and whose leaf does not wither. - Psalms:1:3

Are we trees planted by the water? We all have seasons in our lives like trees. We have a spring like season when we are growing and learning. Summer season, when we are at our peak in full bloom. Ready to take on the world and all it throws at us. Autumn when we slow down, and start to fade. Then comes winter, the times when we are almost dead, and show no signs of life.

We go through seasons mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The good things about seasons are they are constantly changing, and they repeat. God takes us through times of growth, maturity, tiredness, then comes the fire.

The times we think we will never get through, when we show no signs of life. Just like trees in the winter lose their beauty, and are naked, the trials of life leave us naked and exposed. When we think we can't take another step and we are about to wither, the snow starts to thaw, the sun starts to shine, and causes new growth within us.

The beautiful thing about trees is every time they go through a winter, they grow and get more beautiful with age. When we go through trials, they are meant to beautify us. Gold is put through the fire to become pure.

The next time you are in a winter season, remember that spring is right around the corner.
